What are the benefits of using a night cream?
One of our most popular face creams is our Harakeke seed oil night cream! But why should we be using a night cream and what are the differences and benefits?
Night creams are specialised skincare products designed to be used during the nighttime as part of a skincare routine. These creams are typically thicker and richer in texture compared to day creams. They are formulated to provide extra hydration, nourishment, and repair to the skin while you sleep.
There are two main benefits of using a night cream. The first is hydration, night creams help replenish and retain moisture, preventing dryness. The second benefit is skin repair and regeneration. While you sleep, the skin goes into a natural repair mode and night creams support this process by providing nutrients and active ingredients that aid in cellular repair and skin rejuvenation.
Our Harakeke seed oil night cream is thick, raw and deeply nourishing. Harakeke seed oil contains a high linoleic content, an amino acid that is incredibly nourishing and hydrating for the skin. It's rich in omegas 3, 6 and 9 which are fatty acids that promote cell rejuvenation and restoration. With the added benefits of anti-inflammatory Kawakawa oil, this night cream is deeply moisturising.
When using our night cream, it's important to cleanse your face with our kūmarahou and mānuka honey cleanser and then apply our mānuka water and kawakawa toner. This ensures the cream can penetrate the skin effectively. Apply a small amount of the cream onto clean, dry skin, and gently massage it using circular motions!
