Our multi purpose soothing balm is based on traditional use of Kawakawa for irritations, abrasions and pains. Kawakawa leaves have a super high anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and analgesic content making it an amazing balm for all sorts. With Sweet Almond and Mānuka Oil, and some beeswax from our own hives, our Kawakawa Balm is the natural and native skincare remedy perfect for dry lips, skin irritations (like eczema and psoriasis), as well as bites, sores and nappy rash.

1 x Kūmarahou Soap

A Gentle, Healing Hand and Body Wash

Pomaderris Kumarahou, has a very high saponin content. Saponin is a surfactant, which means that it can foam into a lather, 100% naturally. Most soaps contain chemicals to do this. Kūmarahou was traditionally referred to as gum diggers soap, as the gum diggers of the 1800s would use kūmarahou and water to remove kauri gum or tree sap from their hands when they were working. This soap is beautifully soft, very healing and 100% natural.

A Natural Disinfectant

The oil distilled from the Leptospermum Scoparium, or Mānuka Tree is super anti-bacterial. It is shown to be 30x more cleaning than Tea Tree Oil. It is extremely potent and it has been proven to be a significant anti-fungal treatment.

Science

Pomaderris Kumarahou possesses a plant agent called Saponin. This plant agent is a natural surfactant, meaning it can be developed into a soapy lather. We do this but also infuse our own anti-bacterial mānuka oil into the formulation. This makes for a super cleansing, 100% natural soap. It is effective at removing dirt and kills bacteria on the skin without breaking down the barrier of the skin and stripping it of its natural oils.


Research shows that Mānuka Oil contains a vast range of terpenoids that inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi. It is 30 x more powerful than Tea Tree Oil and it is considered to be one of the most potent, 100% natural, disinfectants on the planet.


Macropiper Excelsum, better known as Kawakawa, is incredibly healing. Research shows that it decreases inflammatory markers of nitric oxide. It possesses bioactives, Myrsiticin and Diayangambin that are anti-inflammatory. When your Aotea Kawakawa Balm is applied, these bioactives seep into the inflamed or damaged tissue to reduce swelling and aid the healing process. Further the beeswax creates a natural protective seal and the mānuka oil is deeply cleansing.
